no-go.

does it give any sort of response?

even tho if i remember correctly, YOU told me NOT to let ppl know

fine i stay

there's a good side :
ModMakers, Animators/Artists
then the bad side :
Doxxers, Bullies, P*dophiles, R34 Artists

Due to recent controversies that are not my fault, nor do I have any involvement in them whatsoever, I will be taking a break. The only involvement I had was letting Liam know his number was out there. I'm very, VERY sorry EVERYONE got to see the cancerous side of this community. I will only be gone for three days, and during that time, I won't respond to any replies.

bacon

Here's a crazy thought : WHAT IF IT WAS A JOKE?!?

Reporting you for involvement during the situation where Liam's number was leaked.

who's sandwitch? is he Liam?

wait did sandwich dox or did the kid dox

yes

yeah he thanked me for telling him. i potentially saved his life, and he's gonna sort it out tomorrow

fuck you

messaged him*

i messaged him on his phone number and he's less than amused. i can't disclose any further. also, it's not because he doesn't like it, it's because of a heated fight he and his friend had.

just to clarify : no, they didn't leak because he hated FNF. they leaked because someone spread false rumors over a fight. i spoke to the guy personally, and trust me, he is NOT happy. i cannot disclose any further details.

It blows my mind how creative, yet toxic this community is at times. You dumb kids had to leak a guy's phone no., and I hate you for it.
Anyhow, try this. I tried it on my Chromebook, and best part? NO BLACK BOXES! NO WAITING FOREVER! IT LOADS QUICKLY!
(NOTE : Week 2 and 5 doesn't properly load for some reason. The creator of this version is working on a patch.)

https://phykro.itch.io/fonedin thank me later!

if you mean Among Us Airship, it comes out on March 31st

get the Linux package from this itch.io page and follow along with my post on how to install.

sorry

hey np glad i could help

hey fuckface there's an error when you put firefox

wow rude

i have a fix, man. first off, go into your Chromebook settings. Then go to About Chrome OS. It HAS to be 64-bit, or it will not work. next up, try looking for my post for more details. it goes in depth on how to install and run Friday Night Funkin.

I've been hearing non-stop of troubles with running FNF on Chrome OS, and I just wanna say first off :

I GOTCHU FAM! If your Chrome OS device has access to download Android apps, you could try Mozilla Firefox. You can use it for a lot of things, including FNF. However, FNF was never optimized for Firefox, so the characters appear as black boxes, rarely ever managing to fully load. If you're not in it for the animation, this should be no big deal. Go on and try it today!

mine, unfortunately, is 32 bit. i learned from YouTuber Chrome OS Made Simple. basically, I can't show them it works.

np

uh yeah i found an easier way for Chromebook but it requires a 64 bit Chromebook

Step 1 : Go into your settings, and go to About Chrome OS. Is yours 64-bit? You should be good to go! It doesn't work for 32-bit, however.

Step 2 : Turn on Linux Apps (Beta). Customize it however you want, but just note you need at least 7 GB of Disk Space, and let it install.

Step 3 : Download the Linux Package from this itch.io page (donate to these guys if you want).

Step 4 : Move/copy the Linux package into the Linux Files folder.

Step 5 : Open your Terminal, and do the following commands IN ORDER (wait for each's process to finish, but note ./Funkin opens the game.

sudo mv /etc/apt/sources.list /etc/apt/oldsources.list
sudo touch /etc/apt/sources.list
sudo echo deb https://deb.debian.org/debian bullseye main  | sudo tee -a /etc/apt/sources.list
sudo apt update
sudo apt dist-upgrade
unzip funkin-linux-64bit.zip
chmod 755 Funkin
./Funkin
sudo apt install menulibre
menulibre

(To add the Funkin icon, install menulibre and open it, and press the plus sign and do Add Launcher. Name the lancher and press the icon next to command, then press Home and add the package called Funkin. Press the button next to the plus sign to save the launcher, and then it should be an icon in the Linux Apps folder.)

Step 6 : Enjoy! Also, please note there's frame drops at times. This can be fixed by (be sure to close the current version) :

./Funkin --disable-framerate-limit

To update, repeat the process but this time remove the old version from the Linux Files folder and replace it with the new version.

(1 edit)

Attempt 1 : Browser

In the browser, we can try either itch.io or newgrounds.com. Give it time to load, and if the title screen appears, click the screen and press Enter. Here, you can do several things like normal, however, when it comes to a  grey screen appearing when a song loads, this is because Chromebooks are lacking in RAM. With each update, the game gets heavier, much like every other game. You need to meet specific RAM requirements to load something, and unfortunately, there are no viable workarounds.

Attempt 2 : Terminal

In Chrome OS's Settings app, at the very bottom above Advanced is a way to turn on Linux support. Just follow the step-by-step process, and for the best experience, give your Linux Terminal AT LEAST 7.5 GB (note : you need that storage to give). Once it's done loading, you should get greeted by a small window you can type in. Go to itch.io and get the Friday Night Funkin' Linux build (don't forget to skip the donation page unless you wanna support them!). Once it's done, make another folder inside your Files app. You can't extract zips by normal means, so open the zip and copy all files inside the zip to your new folder, named whatever you named it. Then, right-click on the new folder (or click the touchpad with two fingers), and click Share With Linux. It should give you a pop-up when it's shared. Now, head back to the terminal and do 'cd /mnt/chromeos/MyFiles/<foldername>', except replace <foldername> with what you named your folder.  If you made your folder in another folder, such as Downloads, do 'cd /mnt/chromeos/MyFiles/Downloads/<foldername>'. If it has that path highlighted in Blue next to your command line, do 'ls'. This will list the files inside of that folder. If 'Funkin' and 'lime.ndll' are green, put './Funkin'. They shouldn't be green, since that file type isn't supported by that exact Terminal. You could do more research and learn how to get a different Terminal. The Terminal you get from Chrome OS is 'Debian 10 (Buster). I recommend trying 'Ubuntu'.

Conclusion

By normal means, 'Funkin', or the main game file, cannot be accessed on Chromebook.

i've done more research. and to nobody's surprise, you just can't. Chrome OS's Linux Terminal is based on Debian 10 (Buster).

- Step 1 : Activate Linux Mode -

You're going to need to go into the settings and enable Linux Apps (Beta). After following a process, you should be greeted by a small window that lets you type.

- Step 2 : Unzip It -

If you wanna see any kind of progress, you gotta unzip it. However, Chrome OS's file app doesn't support file extraction. Make a new folder and copy every file in the Linux zip file into it.

- Step 3 : Load your directory -

We go back to the terminal and do '/mnt/chromeos/MyFiles/<foldername>'. <foldername> should be replaced by the name of the folder you have the unzipped files stored in, and BE SURE TO RIGHT CLICK AND CLICK 'SHARE WITH LINUX' in the files app before you even press enter in the terminal. After that if it has the file path in blue on the command line you're typing on, do 'ls'.  It should list the files inside of that directory/path. We look at 'lime.ndll' and 'Funkin'. Notice how they're grey?

- Step 4 : Realize -

Unless Funkin gets a '.deb' version any time soon, you will NOT be able to open Friday Night Funkin' using the terminal. If you're willing enough and do not care about your files being erased, you have to enable Developer mode and try a seemingly sketchy '.apk' of the game. I do not recommend this, nor do i support anything sketchy it does to your computer.

Sorry, but this is how things have to be. For now, at least.

so go to the main itch.io page and find the linux version and install it. next, copy those files to another folder since you can't extract zips and you need the files in the zip to install FNF. next, open your terminal and do 'cd /mnt/chromeos/MyFiles/<foldername>' next, there's a roadblock. on Chromebook, deb files work best for Linux apps. since there is no deb files in the zip, that means there's no way yet to run FNF on Chrome OS.

i'm one of the rare beasts that was given a chromebook

never worked for me

how do i download the base game on chromebook

ok ok so i managed to open the filepath, however, Chromebooks work best with '.deb', and there is no Friday Night Funkin' version ending in '.deb' (Note : This method only works in Debian 10 (Buster). If anyone knows how to tackle this problem, it would be appreciated if you could show me.)
